Overview
Don Jones is a partner in the Corpus Christi offices of Merkley Jones Eastham. A lawyer with deep roots in the region, Don’s practice and experience ranges broadly from commercial and construction litigation to real estate and oil and gas litigation. In addition, Don is a dedicated conservationist who has worked extensively as outside legal counsel to a variety of organizations such as FlatsWorthy, Ducks Unlimited, CCA Texas and other regional and national organizations who share a similar focus and purpose.
As a founding partner of Merkley Jones Eastham, Don has sought to expand the presence of the firm in Corpus Christi and throughout the entire South Texas region. Don is a recent President of the Corpus Christi Bar Association, a former elected Director to the Texas Young Lawyers Association and active member of Texas Bar Foundation in addition to maintaining active membership in the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates. A proud graduate of Texas A&M University, Don is active in continuing university affairs, the Texas Aggie Bar Association and the Association of Former Students. In addition, Don serves on the Board of Directors for the Corpus Christi Yacht Club and is the Panel Chairman – San Antonio Region of the Texas Bar Association Attorney Disciplinary Committee.
Don has been a member of the State Bar of Texas since 2001 and has attained a Notable rating by Martindale-Hubbell for strong ethical standards in 2024. A veteran litigator with an expansive practice docket, Don is a dedicated advocate for his clients throughout the entire region of South Texas and beyond.
